Biography

Carine Kraus is Chief Impact Officer and member of the Executive Committee of the Carrefour Group, a global leader in mass retail with sales of €90 billion, 335,000 employees, and 15,000 stores worldwide. As Chief Impact Officer, Carine Kraus is in charge of the Group's CSR department (climate, biodiversity, food transition for all, organic and vegan products, health and nutrition, etc.), the Diversity and Inclusion department (gender equality, diversity of origin, inclusion of employees and customers with disabilities), the Carrefour Foundation and solidarity and sponsorship initiatives, and the employer brand. She is also a director of Carrefour Brazil, the Group's main subsidiary. Before joining Carrefour in 2022, Carine Kraus spent ten years at Veolia, a group specializing in water, waste, and energy, where she spent five years as head of the Veolia Energie France subsidiary, which specializes in renewable energy and energy savings. She was also Senior Vice President in charge of Sustainable Development at Veolia. Prior to Veolia, Carine Kraus began her career at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, where she held various positions for ten years in the Treasury Department and the State Participation Agency, as well as in the ministerial cabinet, where she served for three years between 2009 and 2012. In addition to her duties at Carrefour, Carine Kraus is Co-Chair of the MEDEF Consumer Commission and a member of the CGF (Consumer Goods Forum, an international association of distributors and manufacturers). She is also a director and Chair of the Audit Committee of SEMMARIS (Rungis Market) and a member of the France-China Foundation. Carine Kraus is a graduate of ENA (Romain Gary class), ESSEC, and IEP Paris.
